Spring has finally arrived

On our return from Hawaii we landed in Calgary at -6 degrees and blowing snow and had the worst drive back to Canmore. We were in separate vehicles and I was in the truck with the kids. The high way was dark and the blowing snow made visibility even worse. There were a few times that I couldn't see the side of the road and when a truck passed I just had to keep the steering wheel straight and hope for the best.
We made it home and were back to -10 in the mornings which meant returning to the battle of the snow suits, gloves, hats and boots...oooh joy. It stayed like that for another three weeks until finally in April we started to feel the warmth in the sun, snow and ice were melting and buds beginning to come through.
Time for biking adventures and planting adventures. Again we are involved in the Canmore Community Garden and are in the Roots Troop. Planting started at the beginning of May and we helped to transport the new soil to the beds and dig up the old soil. So every Wednesday over the summer that is where you will find us, weeding, pruning, watering and harvesting and enjoying the return from the garden.
