The week before we left for sunny Maui we decided to have a weekend with some friends in Lake Louise and take the kids skiing to consolidate the past 8 weeks of lessons they had had. Heather and Finlay did really well and we rode the gondola to the top of the mountain and enjoyed the quiet slopes on the back side of Lake Louise ski hill.We had a rest at Temple lodge there where we had our packed lunch and hot chocolate and Finlay made me smile and almost choke on my sandwich when he suddenly spoke up and said..." I have a great idea...why don't we have 5 brothers and 5 sisters!!...." Either he loves his family so much and wants more of us, or he is bored with the family he has and wants more variety!!!

Heather also did really well skiing with us the whole 2 1/2 days and spent her time just singing to herself going down the green and blue runs. Her favorite song being "I want to be a mighty king" from the Lion King movie. Heather's skiing has improved greatly over the last few weeks and she can do bumps on the blue runs, she took me down one such run twice and both times I ended up on my bum covered in snow as I stood up she asked if I was okay because one of my legs seemed shorter than the other......perhaps thats my problem!!!! She also advised me that I should follow her down as she knows the best way down.
So there you go...this year I am skiing with Heather, next year I will be skiing with Finlay and then beyond that I may be skiing on my own!!!
We also had fun at our friends place, just exploring the deep snow and exploring snow caves.
